This Sunday our Church put in front of us three readings.

First reading:

Book of Joshua 3: 14-4: 9

The children of Israel cross the Jordan River on dry land, where the river’s water was split into two walls from above and below, and at the instruction of God commanded Joshua to take twelve stones from the bottom of the river. This was made to set them up in Gilgal, a monument reminiscent of the great miracle of God’s effective presence with his people when he hears him.

Second reading:

the message to Romans 6: 1-14 death and life with Christ

St.Paul previously talked about that sin increased because of the laws, but he also said that no matter how much sin does, it will not frighten the believer, because he also emphasized, “Where there is more sin, then grace is differentiated.” God does not want a sinner to perish, but rather gives him power stronger than sin to overcome it. Some believers may take advantage of this hope, neglecting to resist sin, but rather guided with evil under the pretext of "until grace abounds in him." It is not only a dangerous adventure, but a suicide by throwing oneself into the camp and in the flames of perdition. The believer died, by baptism, with Christ for sin. His bad will died in him. By his faith in Christ, he was united with him, freed the sinful will and died for it just as Jesus died on the cross. Then he rose with him, armed with grace and immunity against evil. Christ will never die again and the evil one has no authority over him. With him the Christian has freed himself from the power of evil over him and entered the circle of God's life, so it is not appropriate for him after he has sinned.

Third Reading The Gospel:

 Matthew 7: 15-27

Jesus warns his disciples: First, of the false prophets “who come to them in sheep's clothing, while on the inside they are ravenous wolves.” And secondly, from the superficiality and professionalism of faith. The believer is not known from his prayer and the manifestation of his worship, but from his life and actions that are in conformity with his sayings. And third,  from neglecting and belittling the words of God. Whoever listens to the word of God, keeps it and applies it, builds his home on a rock of faith that is not shaken by the storms of evil that always threaten him.
